Denis McNamara

Denis has the capacity to be very attentive to others, provide insight and equip people to take responsibility for their lives. His energy and enthusiasm sustains and enables individuals to hear and follow their life’s calling. His natural approach is to coach and be empowering for others. His strengths in one to one coaching and tutoring flow from his formation as a counsellor, educator and spiritual director

This specialised coaching enables individuals to work through current issues to achieve the results they choose. In doing this people base their life choices on their personal values. This interior integration balances the choices they make with personal goals, commitments, relationships and career. His coaching also assists clients work through the grief of leaving a secure way of life and making the transition to an unknown future.

Significant life experiences and professional achievements have equipped Denis to provide support to others on their life journey and career path. His career goals in local and state government were to enrich the social wellbeing of local communities with a better quality of life. This was achieved for over 10 years. His special contribution was his capacity to engage the local people in designing and developing their future. Through his consultancy Power Planning for Outcomes Denis was able to mediate and do collaborative planning for communities in schools and for clients in business and state government.

In the early part of his life Denis pioneered creative ways for young adults to discover their identity and make better life choices. He promoted Australian identity, social justice and equal access for all to the common wealth of our country. He worked to bring about reconciliation between different groups and assist them through the challenging changes taking place in their world. Denis worked in ministry in the Catholic Church as a member of an international religious order in parish communities and secondary schools across Australia and overseas inviting people to reflect deeply on their spiritual journey. He provided grief counselling for families in hospitals. The gift of this time was an amazing grace for all involved.

Denis brings these personal values to clients. He is a believer in the capacity of each person to live their life fully, founded on what is good, true, beautiful and unifying. His own hope and compassion encourages others to go through the pain and pathos of life and to focus on all that fulfils their wellbeing. He has lived his life generously and is now available to coach individuals and groups so they too can enjoy the abundance of life, graciously.

Denis has a lifetime of learning with three Masters across business (MBA), organisational development (MA) and pastoral care (MPS) as well as undergraduate studies over seven years in Philosophy, Ethics, History, Jewish and Christian Scriptures and Theology. He has high level skills in group facilitation, mediation, participative planning and change management.
