The National Carer Counselling Program is funded by the Australian Government and delivered through the Carers NSW Commonwealth Carer Resource Centre - Carers NSW targeting:

  • • Carers of people with a disability, particularly those with complex needs
  • • Carers of children and young people with a disability, including Autism and ADHD
  • • Carers of frail older people
  • • Carers of people with dementia
  • • Carers of people receiving palliative care
  • • Carers of people with a mental illness
  • • Carers of people with challenging behaviour

I provide all aspects of carer counselling, including:

  • • Emotional support
  • • Stress Management
  • • Bereavement & loss, including former carers, that is, the person being supported has died
  • • Crisis counselling
  • • Coping strategies
  • • Transition issues relating to the person being supported moving into residential care or supported   accommodation
  • • Practical problem solving

While specialised in disability and carer counselling, Ruth also counsels any individuals, couples or families seeking to resolve issues and wanting to make changes in their lives.
