Andrew Groome

‘The relationship is the therapy’ is an important maxim in Andrew's work with clients experiencing loss, despair and loneliness or struggling with ambivalent or chaotic feelings towards loved ones or the world in general. In addition to his private practice, Andrew continues to engage in government supported and charitable organisations in order to work with and help deeply traumatised people living on the margins of society.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and philosophy at the University of NSW, Andrew’s interest in the emerging field of computer graphics in the mid eighties led to his spending the next two decades working and teaching in that area. During this time, he also completed a Graduate Diploma in psychology from Sydney University followed by a Graduate Diploma in counselling from the Institute of Counselling. He is a member of the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of NSW.
