Dr Melissa Keogh

Melissa is highly qualified clinical psychologist with over 15 years' experience and brings a warm, kind, and empathic nature to the therapeutic relationship. Melissa is fully registered with AHPRA and The Australian Psychological Society (including full membership with The College of Clinical Psychologists)

Melissa works with adults (18 years and over) with a variety of presentations. She has a strong interest in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders such as generalised anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, social anxiety, and performance anxiety. Melissa has lectured to general practitioners (GPs) on the treatment of these conditions at The University of Melbourne. Other areas of expertise include the mood disorders such as depression and dysthymia and the eating disorders including bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and anorexia nervosa. In particular Melissa has a special interest in Bulimia Nervosa and has provided training for other psychologists on CBT-E for the condition.  

Melissa is a highly nurturing clinical psychologist who is gentle in her approach and draws upon her skills in a range of evidence based treatments when assisting clients to reduce distress. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focussed CBT, CBT for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). 

In addition to her work as a clinical psychologist Melissa is also a media consultant/ commentator and has appeared on a variety of programs such as The Project, Sunrise and The House of Wellness TV. She has also held the position of writer/columnist at Kidspot.com.au - Australia's foremost parenting website -  producing posts on relationship issues and an ASK DR MELISSA column.  As such, Melissa is uniquely placed to also assist in the treatment of mental health issues for clients within the media/entertainment industry.
