Ella Wufong
It is a great privilege for me to travel with people of all ages and genders on their therapeutic journeys. I have a very open-minded and non-judgemental attitude to life and my practice rests upon fostering a safe collaborative space — characterised by openness, curiosity, warmth, humour, respect and responsiveness. This foundation opens up a space for nurturing an increasing awareness of the patterns of our minds, emotions, physical experience and actions, and for cultivating the practice of alternative skilful or mindful responses when those patterns seem unhelpful.
I practice a systemic, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, working from the understanding that each person is the expert in their own lives. Therapeutic techniques are drawn from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory with an emphasis on metaphors and language that make sense to each unique client.
Being a curious person that thrives on variety I have a rich background that includes working in music and theatre production, experimental psychology, academia, IT consultancy, community development, youth work and drug harm minimisation.
