Amanda Boyd

Amanda Boyd is an experienced clinical social worker who has worked as a counsellor, clinical supervisor, group facilitator and educator for over 20 years. She has worked for government and non-government organisations and has been a passionate advocate for social justice and ethical practice.

Amanda has experience working with all cultures and genders affected by trauma, including child sexual assault, sexual assault and domestic violence. Amanda also works with anxiety and depression, grief and loss, alcohol and other drug issues, relationship and identity issues, parenting/carer issues and any other interpersonal challenges.

Amanda’s therapy practice is committed to a client centred, trauma-informed, human rights model. As an experienced clinical social worker she believes in working collaboratively with her clients where they can feel empowered in their healing. Some of Amanda’s approaches include: Psycho-education and Mindfulness Strategies, Narrative Therapy, Response Based Practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Amanda is an approved Victim Services Counsellor who is located in Glebe but will see clients from any area. Amanda currently sees adults only. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) from The University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Anthropology and Psychology) from The Australian National University.
