Kate Hollingsworth

Kate Hollingsworth is a social worker providing counselling and psychotherapy under Medicare. As a Medicare provider she can offer counselling at a reduced rate with the Medicare rebate. 

Kate recognises that a person's difficulties don't occur in a vacuum, and are influenced by the context of their lives. This allows a holistic healing approach that takes into account all the factors affecting a person's wellbeing.

Kate's style is warm and non-judgmental. She firmly believes that people are the experts in their own lives and it is her role to work with clients on what is important to them. She is able to connect well with both adolescents and adults. Kate is particularly passionate about working with young people (12-26 years), and their parents/caregivers.

Therapeutic approach: Kate uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including; Process Oriented Psychology, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This allows her to work with clients in a way that is holistic and resonates well and is meaningful to them. Kate is happy to discuss her therapeutic approach further if you have any questions.

Kate has 10 years experience working as counsellor and psychotherapist. She has worked for NSW Health and a number of specialist organisations including Twenty10, Auburn Youth Centre and Good Shepherd ANZ. Kate is a qualified social worker and an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Kate provides counselling under Medicare.

Kate is located in Glebe and sees clients from Glebe and the inner west, including Newtown, Balmain, Pyrmont, Ultimo, Stanmore and Petersham.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Social Work (James Cook University)
2-year Professional Training in Process Oriented Psychology (PACFA accredited).
